The movie was brutal & was NOT playing no mutha f’n games as Jackson is “very infamous” for saying! Lol! As soon as the film was over, my eyes were like….I have no idea how to put it – the things that I saw on that big IMAX movie screen….it was so surreal….it was intense….it was gory….it was….so like watching the old SAW films back at home all over again! Watching this just felt like being at home!
I knew what to expect, of course watching all of the Saw films. I knew what to expect, but to see another movie after all these years and after so much time that has passed. Maybe it is true what they say about seeing films in IMAX, it sure does bring it to life and you become a part of the film itself. The movie was 100% crystal clear – the sound was amazing and the kills were brutal and up close.
There are TWO flaws in the film that I have to point out for you – I feel that it is NOT spoilers, though. One, is that the cops that were being murdered by whoever the “Jigsaw Copycat” Killer is were being identified all wrong, I feel in my candid opinion. Sure, I loved the fact that the movie was like a puzzle and the murderer had the cops trying to solve their riddles and such; but once the killer enclosed the dead cop’s police badge to their severed body parts that is how they identified them – by their badge #.
Spiral. I say, why not just say, “hey when was the last time you saw such & such?” Wouldn’t that be a much faster and more effective way then waiting around for your fellow officers to get murdered and then find them? What do you think? I mean, I think I am onto something – don’t you…if you really stop and think about it. They can’t miss work for days at a time and you not hear from them. When writers write a script, they should write & write to make sense as well. I loved how Spiral was all over the place.
Two, the ending to the movie was ON POINT and bloody delicious! Quickly: Chris Rock did provide his stellar comedic side throughout the film! Lol! I could not have asked for anything better like I said for the ending of the film – but….HALF OF IT WAS SHOWN IN THE SECOND TRAILER!!! A true movie buff like me who re-watches trailers esp. for movies that I am excited about like this one notices things like that! Spiral!
Come on – just because you show 5 to 6 scenes super fast in a trailer – do not think people do not press pause between them every couple of seconds to get a peek at what is being shown. I do and that is how I found this out! I will not divulge it, but that never should have been done or put in the trailer. Spiral! Spiral! Spiral!
In closing, I figured out from early on who the killer was – but NOT why and the reason I did not figure out why because they had wrote it in – in this movie and at the end. If it was not for that, I would have been a great detective! Good luck and be prepared to get “spiraled out of control!”
Sweet! I loved the first few saw movies!!; I love Samuel l Jackson though!!! I was super curious as to what people would think about it. I have a hard time taking Chris Rock seriously lolol he's an excellent actor, I just here his voice and I'm usually ready to laugh lolol. Thanks for review!!;
I love ALL the "Saw" films – Jackson is quite brilliant in deed! Wonder no more as to what I think about it. It will be No. 1 this weekend at the Box Office! I know! I have a hard time taking Steve Carrell seriously, too! Have you ever seen "Foxcatcher?" Carrell played a serious – very serious role in that film and it was hard for me to take him seriously and it was based on a true story, too!
When I saw Chris Rock, I knew they had to have some comedy in it LOL I’m going to go watch the trailers to see if I can figure it out then go see the film! Thanks for the review
Oooo now this is enticing I look forward to seeing it but gotta be in the right mindset! As always your reviews are on point I love your insight as well!
Chris Rock – hell yes! Next, Give it your best shot! Let me know if you got it! I still won't tell you , though! Lol! Good Luck!
Well, thank you Kind Sir! I always LOVE being on point!
Thanks Travis I will be watching this, I was a little skeptical with Chris Rock as a comedian and it looking so serious. It’s seems like it will be a good balance✌🏾
Yup, it is a REALLY good balance! You will enjoy the NUMBER ONE movie!
Sounds like one to see! Great review Travis!!
